The country reminded us of our first visit to mainland China 25 years ago. Tourism is going to boom in Viet Nam over the next 10 years! We traveled from the north (Hanoi) to the south (Saigon) with stops in Hue (the ancient capitol) and Denang. Highlights included visits to the Army museum in Hanoi, the unspoiled "China Beach" of Denang, the Cu Chi underground tunnels and the Mekong Delta. People were extremely friendly and the shopping was spectacular. Our US dollar is very strong "in country". Regards, Doug and Diane Walker The Olympics in Vancouver Diane and I visited the Olympics in Vancouver B.C. this past February and to our surprise – only a 5 minute wait at the border! After crossing we proceeded to the River Rock Casino, parked for $2 and hopped onto the metro rail to downtown Vancouver. After visiting Robson Square (Vancouver’s Pioneer Square) we walked though downtown as many of the streets were closed to autos. After lunch at Earl’s, an upscale sports bar, we visited the Olympic Superstore and then traveled via rail to Grandville Island. On the island we enjoyed live music at the Air Canada stage, the Granville farmers market and dinner. Back on the metro rail and through the Olympic Village where we met visitors from Holland.
